This stuff came about because I needed various U.S. Navy insignia and pins for the Official Seal Generator. I couldn't find good quality scans or vector versions anywhere on the web, except as part of clipart collections costing hundreds of bucks. So I said to myself, eff that, and I got a copy of the Bluejacket's Manual and traced them all out myself. It's all public domain, so no copyright issues obtain, and I'm releasing these vector files into the public domain as well. I hope you get some use out of them. All files are vector files, so they're scalable. They're all in compressed Scalable Vector Graphics (SVGZ) format. Adobe Illustrator and Inkscape can open them just fine, so you shouldn't have any trouble using them. You can download the entire collection in one archive (347KB zip file), or as individual files below. Carrier lettering This is just the lettering found on the sides of Navy ships.
I've also converted these letters into Truetype and OpenType fonts, which should make them easier to use. CPO pins
Enlisted Ratings Insignia To find out what these ratings mean, check out Wikipedia's page on U.S. Navy ratings. Some of these ratings have recently been disestablished, but I included them anyway for historical purposes. Misc. symbols These are just components that appeared in more than one enlisted rating insignia, or were enough trouble to draw that I felt like saving them, so here they are.

Get Drunk And Vote 4 McCain
Voting for McCain, but still don't feel like he's conservative enough? Have a drink to ease the pain. This may be the funniest (or at least, the most *intentionally* funny) conservative blog I've ever seen; they post news stories and tidbits and rate them by how many cocktails it takes to ease the pain of John McCain's incipient Alzheimer's, maladroitness, and closet liberalism.
